Biofield Therapy Through Touch
Healing Touch is a nationally accredited, evidence-based energy medicine therapy that uses gentle, heart-centered touch to stimulate the body's natural energy flow. This soothing biofield therapy promotes physical, emotional, and mental balance by clearing energetic blockages and restoring harmony to the body’s energy fields. Through light touch—either directly on the body or just above it—Healing Touch interventions activate the flow of nourishing energy, helping to open, align, and balance both major and minor energy centers. In this optimized state, the body naturally redirects its energy toward restoring homeostasis and accelerating self-healing.
Widely recognized and utilized in hospitals, hospices, long-term care facilities, integrative health centers, physical therapy clinics, and private practices, Healing Touch is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association and approved for continuing education contact hours by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

What can I expect during a Healing Touch session? The first session involves a review of your intake form which includes a health history and a series of questions about your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. At that time, I will answer any questions you have about Healing Touch. Then you will lay fully clothed on a massage table for a Healing Touch treatment. I will gently place my hands slightly above or on the body in specific spots and in specific sequences, depending on what our mutual goals are for the session. A session generally lasts 40 to 60 minutes, and people frequently report feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful during and after the session. Because there may be a cumulative effect of using Healing Touch over time, regular sessions are recommended.

Is Healing Touch the same as Reiki?Healing Touch and Reiki are both viable types of energy healing therapies. However, they have different training requirements for credentialing to become a Healing Touch Practioner vs a Reiki Master. They also have different approaches and varieties of treatments when working with clients. The training to use Reiki healing energy requires the Reiki healing energy to be "transferred" to a student during special "attunements" given by a Reiki Master. Training styles and requirements vary by Reiki Masters because Reiki practice does not hold a standardized Code of Ethics or Standards of Practice for all practitioners. Approval to practice is also not standardized, governed, or monitored. Healing Touch Practioners follow a standardized curriculum and are required to complete five levels of specific structured coursework, including documenting 100 client sessions, an apprenticeship period (typically a year or more) under a Certified Healing Touch Instructor, and formal submittal of case studies and writings to an international organization for evaluation that is acredited by the American Holistic Nurses Association. The Reiki healing approach was created by a Japanese man, Mikao Usui's upon a completion of a 21 day fast, when he was inspired and enlightened about the Reiki healing energy. He then opened a school to teach others how to access and use the Reiki enregies for healing. Healing Touch was created by a Registered Nurse, Janet Mentgen who brought together her nursing skills and a collection of several healing approaches from many traditions and many healers from around the world to create to Healing Touch therapies. Reiki uses a healing technique and symbols to promotes the overall healing of the entire body, mind, and spirit. Healing Touch uses a standard 10 step sequence, based on nursing practices with a focus on the case management. It includes over 30 different energy healing techniques, making it versatile. When providing individualized sessions, practitioners choose the specific techniques required for the session based on the patient’s symptoms and mutal agreed upon goals which focus the healing on that specific situation.

What's the difference between a sound bath and a sound healing session?A sound bath is a community event open to anyone, designed for deep relaxation, stress relief, and meditation. Participants passively experience soothing vibrations from Tibetan singing bowls and other instruments in a shared space.
